Basic Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting



Rich, chocolatey, smooth and creamy chocolate frosting – with vegan, gluten free, and keto options included.


 Ingredients;

  • 2 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/ cup butter, or Vegan options such as Melt, Miyokos
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese, Mascarpone or vegan cream cheese
  • 2-3 cups powdered sugar, or erythritol for keto
  • 3-4 Tbsp milk of choice
Directions:
  1. Let cream cheese and butter come to room temperature.
  2. Microwave chocolate in the Microwave-safe bowl for 30 secs on High and stir with spatula. Repeat with 10 to 15 secs blasts until most of the chocolate is melted.
  3. Remove the chocolate from microwave and keep stirring until the residual heat melts the rest of the chocolate.
  4. Mix all ingredients in the mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer or stand mixer.
  5. If too thick, very slowly add more milk of choice. If too thin, add additional powdered sugar.
  6. Cover and refrigerate leftover frosting for up to a week
